Disturbed metabolism and water-salt metabolism lead to the accumulation of uric acid in the body, which forms crystalline conglomerates. Excessive accumulation of urates (uric acid salts) forms kidney stones, contributes to the deposition of salts in the articular cartilage and other tissues, even in the skin. Such deposits are felt in the form of nodules, which are called gouty bumps. This phenomenon has been observed in patients with gout for a long time (10 or more years).
