The human heart works with a fickle rhythm. The frequency of his blows largely depends on the physical and mental state of the body. A condition in which there is an increase in heart rate for no apparent reason up to 90 beats per minute or higher is called tachycardia. It occurs spontaneously or under the influence of various external or internal factors, and is always accompanied by characteristic symptoms.

The main symptoms of cardiac tachycardia

Symptoms of cardiac tachycardia, their intensity and duration are largely due to the cause of this pathology. An increase in heart rate in itself is not considered a separate disease; it occurs most often against the background of existing pathologies of the cardiovascular system.

The main symptoms of tachycardia are heart palpitations and weakness. At rest, the number of heart beats can increase up to 220 per minute. In this case, there are: dizziness, difficulty breathing, darkening in the eyes, the appearance of pain in the chest, in the region of the heart.

Heart pains with tachycardia are weak, short-term, stitching, paroxysmal. With a sharp increase in heart rate, a short-term loss of consciousness is possible. This condition can only last for a few seconds, resembling a severe attack of dizziness.

Moderate tachycardia, when the number of heart contractions per minute does not exceed 90 beats, is accompanied by slight malaise, the appearance of heaviness at the location of the heart, shortness of breath. Such a condition, which continues for a long time, becomes the cause of decreased performance, fatigue, sleep disturbances, loss of appetite, increased nervousness and deterioration in mood.

Tachycardia in most cases is paroxysmal, occurs spontaneously, while the heart rhythm remains correct even at the moment of its strongest acceleration. Tachycardia attacks are short and long lasting, lasting for several minutes, hours or days.

Nonspecific manifestations of cardiac tachycardia

There are various types of cardiac tachycardia. Some of them are accompanied by symptoms that are not inherent in this condition in general.

With paroxysmal tachycardia, which is most often based on oxygen starvation of the heart muscle, there are: increased urge to urinate, chills and feelings of fear, excessive sweating, flatulence, increased blood pressure, tinnitus.

In some cases, the next attack of an increased heart rate begins with the appearance of a persistent feeling of fear, a lump in the throat, pale skin, slowing down the pulse.

Tachycardia can occur during sleep, leading to abrupt awakening accompanied by feelings of anxiety or fear. At the same time, a person has moisture in the palms, pounding pain in the temples, numbness of the limbs, mild nausea.
