The Russian drug "Prestans" is presented on the pharmaceutical market in the form of tablets. Each tablet contains perindopril arginine and amlodipine besylate.

Perindopril from the gastric tract enters the bloodstream. 65-95% of substances are absorbed. Food reduces absorption by 35%. The highest level of perindopril in the blood is observed one hour later. The substance in the liver is split into metabolites, a fifth of which is occupied by perindoprilat. The half-life process starts after a day. The metabolites are excreted by the kidneys. Perindopril does not cumulate.

Amlodipine enters the bloodstream in the same way as perindopril. Absolute bioavailability is 64-80%. It is absorbed a little slower. The maximum level reaches after 6-12 hours. Food does not affect the absorption process. The substance is broken down very slowly in the liver. The metabolites formed during decomposition have no therapeutic effect. They begin to be excreted after 45 hours. The kidneys and, to a lesser extent, the intestines are involved in the process.
