It is necessary

  • - "Dimexid" 99%;
  • - water;
  • - gauze or bandage;
  • - polyethylene film;
  • - cotton fabric.

Step 1

The drug is available in the form of a concentrate (99%) in bottles of 50 or 100 ml. It is a colorless liquid with a pungent garlic odor. Before use, "Dimexide" must be diluted with water to the desired concentration.

Step 2

For the treatment of joints, the drug is used in the form of applications (compresses). The concentration of "Dimexide" in this case can vary from 25 to 50%. More often, a 25% solution of the drug is used. For example, for the treatment of the knee joint, it is necessary to obtain 100 ml of 25% water "Dimexidum". To do this, take 25 ml of the concentrate and add 75 ml of water to it.

Step 3

After that, it is necessary to conduct a test for hypersensitivity. Rub the resulting liquid on a small area of skin on your forearm. If there is a feeling of severe itching and burning, the drug should not be used.

Step 4

If everything is in order, moisten gauze or bandage with Dimexid solution and put the prepared compress on the affected joint. Cover the gauze on top with plastic wrap and a cotton cloth. Leave it on for 20-30 minutes. Repeat 3 times a day. To increase the anti-inflammatory effect, you can add 1 ampoule of Diclofenac sodium or Voltaren (5 ml) to Dimexide. The drugs enhance each other's action, and the therapeutic effect becomes more pronounced. The duration of treatment with compresses is 10-15 days.

Step 5

For the treatment of trophic ulcers and erysipelas of the skin, a 30-50% solution of "Dimexidum" is used. To get 100 ml of 30% of the drug, you must add 70 ml of water to 30 ml of the concentrate. After testing for hypersensitivity, moisten the gauze with the resulting liquid and place it on the affected area of the skin. Cover with plastic and cloth and leave for 20 minutes. Repeat the procedure 2-3 times a day. Check the duration of the course of treatment with your doctor.

Step 6

With eczema and streptoderma, compresses with a 40-90% solution are needed. To obtain 100 ml of 40% "Dimexidum", it is necessary to combine 40 ml of concentrate and 60 ml of water. Then do a sensitivity test and apply a compress. The medicine is also recommended to irrigate the affected skin. An antibiotic can be added to the ready-made Dimexide solution, which the doctor will recommend.

Step 7

For facial skin, 10-20% aqueous solutions are used. To obtain 100 ml of 10% "Dimexide", you must mix 10 ml of the concentrated preparation with 90 ml of water. Irrigate the skin with the resulting liquid, covering your eyes, or apply a compress.
