A heel spur is a disease in which an area of the plantar tendon is ossified in the area of its attachment to the heel bone. Against the background of this process, inflammation of the surrounding soft tissues occurs. The pains are most pronounced in the morning (the so-called "starting pains"). There are several ways to get rid of heel spurs at home.
It is necessary
- For baths:
- - coarse salt;
- - baking soda;
- - iodine.
- For an anti-inflammatory compress:
- - table mustard;
- - ground red pepper;
- - propolis;
- - compress paper.
- For anti-inflammatory and pain relieving compress:
- - pork bile;
- - burdock leaf;
- - cellophane.
- For the treatment of advanced forms of the disease:
- - 20% ammonia;
- - gauze.
- For homemade heel spur ointment:
- - baby cream;
- - Birch tar;
- - chilli;
- - honey.
Hot soda-salt baths have good warming and analgesic effects. Add a handful of coarse salt and a handful of baking soda to the hot water. Steam your heels for 10-15 minutes. Then draw an iodine grid on them. Perform such procedures every evening before going to bed for 10-12 days.
Make a compress to help reduce inflammation in the soft tissues of the heel and plantar fascia.
Mix 1 tablespoon of mustard with 3 tablespoons of ground red pepper and 50 grams of propolis. Apply the mixture to sore heels, cover with compress paper and wear warm socks. Apply such compresses at night. The positive effect is noted by the end of the first week of treatment.
Pork bile and burdock compress has anti-inflammatory, analgesic and resorption effects. On the top side of the burdock leaf, pour 30 ml of pork bile heated in a water bath and wrap the sore heel. Secure the compress with cellophane and a warm cloth. You can stay in such compresses for 24 hours, after which they should be replaced with new ones. The course of treatment is from 10 to 20 days.
With advanced forms of heel spurs, treatment with compresses from ammonia will help. Take ammonia and moisten a piece of gauze with it. Place cheesecloth with ammonia on the heel that has been pre-lubricated with baby cream. Wrap as warm as possible and leave overnight. Repeat the procedure 5-7 times daily.
At home, you can prepare an ointment for heel spurs. Take 50 grams of baby cream, 1 tablespoon of birch tar, 1 tablespoon of honey, 20 grams of chopped chili. Mix all ingredients. Apply the ointment to your heels 2-3 times a day for a week. Such an ointment will also help with joint pain.
Store it in a glass container in the refrigerator.
