Burdock root is widely used in folk medicine both as an external agent that strengthens hair and internally for diseases of the stomach and intestines, kidneys and joints. Decoctions and infusions are most in demand in the treatment.
It is necessary
- - burdock root;
- - water.
For the preparation of decoctions and infusions, the roots of an annual burdock are needed. Determining a suitable plant is not so difficult - it does not have flower baskets. After the seeds ripen, burdock roots become lethargic, the amount of nutrients in them sharply decreases, so it is important to dig up the plant in a timely manner. Wash fresh roots from the ground, cut off the remnants of leaves and stems. Chop raw materials finely and dry in a warm room.
Prepare the following hair care tea. Pour one and a half tablespoons of dried burdock roots with a glass of boiling water. Cook them over low heat for 15-20 minutes, then turn off the gas and wait for the liquid to cool. Strain the finished broth and use it within an hour. It is best to rub the liquid into your scalp or rinse your hair with it after shampooing. The same broth can be used for washing, it perfectly cleanses and smoothes the skin.
For the treatment of skin diseases (boils, eczema, rash), use a decoction similar to the one described above. The cooking method is no different, the difference is only in the proportions. A dessert spoon of chopped burdock root is required for a glass of boiling water. Rinse inflamed skin with this broth 2-3 times a day. For stomatitis, you can use this mouthwash.
For internal use, an infusion of burdock root is preferable. Pour a teaspoon of dried raw materials into a thermos and pour a glass of boiling water overnight. In the morning, pour the infusion into a jar, cool and strain. For diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, take it in a third of a glass half an hour before meals three times a day. For rheumatism, immediately after eating. For kidney disease and urinary incontinence - 200 ml at night. To cleanse the body of toxins - the same dose, but in the morning on an empty stomach.
