Hypothermia, as well as the penetration of pathogens into the middle ear, can cause inflammation, or otitis media. Its sure sign is a sharp penetrating pain in the ear, itching, weakening of hearing, as well as discharge from the ear canal. Antibiotic therapy is a traditional treatment for acute otitis media. It helps to avoid the spread of the inflammatory process to nearby organs. However, the chronic form of the disease can be cured without antibiotics.
It is necessary
- - pharmacy ear drops;
- - chamomile, elderberry, calamus root, oak bark, camel thorn grass;
- - alcohol, cloth, cotton wool, compress bandage;
- - coarse salt or sand and a canvas bag to warm the ear;
- - cotton swabs and phyto-ear candles to cleanse the ear canal.
Do not treat acute otitis media on your own, accompanied by fever, chills, malaise and sharp pain in the ear. This is dangerous to health, and sometimes to life, since the spread of the inflammatory process to the eyes or brain can cause irreversible consequences. In this case, only drug treatment with antibiotics is indicated.
If otitis media is chronic or mild, try treating otitis media without antibiotics. But so that the inflammatory process does not turn into a purulent course, use pharmacological drugs and only in addition to them, to accelerate recovery, use traditional medicine.
From pharmacy drugs for the treatment of otitis media, apply "Vibrocil" externally 3-4 drops into the ear canal 3-4 times a day, "Otinum" 3-4 drops 3-4 times a day, "Otipax", 3-4 drops 3 times a day, "Polydex" 2-5 drops 2 times a day. Bury them only when heated. Since they have a number of contraindications and side effects, carefully read the instructions.
If there is no purulent discharge from the ear, apply a warming compress. Cut out a circle with a hole for the auricle from the fabric and waxed paper (it should be open when applying the compress). Lubricate the skin around the ear with baby cream or petroleum jelly and, dampen the cloth in warm alcohol solution (50 ml of alcohol, 50 ml of water), apply to the skin. Cover the tissue with paper, also leaving the auricle outside, put cotton on top of the paper and secure everything with a bandage. Leave it on for 1-2 hours. In addition to the compress, use bags of hot salt or sand to warm your ear. After any warming procedure, keep your ear warm by wrapping a woolen scarf around your head.
Along with thermal procedures for the treatment of otitis media, consume as many diaphoretic and fortified drinks as possible: hot tea with honey, brewed currant, raspberry or linden leaves, rosehip broth, chamomile.
When treating otitis media without antibiotics, be sure to use herbal medicine - use herbal decoctions inside and make lotions out of them.
Wrap 2 tablespoons. flowers of elderberry or chamomile in gauze, pour boiling water and after 2-3 minutes, squeezing slightly, attach it close to the ear canal, but not on it. In the same way, make lotions from a mixture of thyme herb (thyme), oak bark, Potentilla root, and calamus root. For internal use, toss in 1 tbsp. chopped camel thorn herb in 200 ml of boiling water and simmer for 5 minutes. Consume in a strained form, half a glass 3 times a day.
In the treatment of otitis media, without or with antibiotics, care is of great importance. In addition to local exposure with the help of thermal procedures and drops several times a day, gargle with anti-inflammatory broths, for example, chamomile and clean the ear canals with cotton swabs, but do this very carefully so as not to damage the eardrum, but rather use pharmaceutical wax candles with propolis.
