The classic recipe for Balynin ointment

The main difficulty in preparing the balm of the Balynin sisters is that it is not always possible to get high-quality oil for it - wood (or lamp) oil, which contains olive oil, as well as myrrh, cinnamon, cassia and fragrant cane. Try buying this ingredient from a church that uses it in worship. The wax must be taken natural, from a trusted seller on the market or from a beekeeper friend. It is not recommended to use molten church candles - recently they contain soft paraffin and a number of chemical additives.

Applications are made of the ointment with a cotton or linen bandage, changing it 3 times a day for 5-7 days. On burns and bumps, the balm is applied without bandaging. In case of a cold, it is recommended to lubricate the nasal passages, and in case of sore throat, it is recommended to lubricate the neck.

Pour half a cup of unrefined oil into an enamel pot and add pieces of natural beeswax (40 g). Add 1 teaspoon of granulated sugar and mix well. Put the cookware on very low heat and, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon, bring the mixture to a boil. Remove the pan and cool the ointment first at room temperature, then in the refrigerator compartment. Transfer the finished product for storage in a clean glass jar and close with a plastic lid. In this form, the Balynin ointment will not lose its healing properties within a year.

Variations of healing ointment

Today, not all priests use the classic five-component oil, so it is permissible to replace this ingredient of the Balynin ointment with unrefined olive oil. By the way, it was it in its pure form that was used earlier in church rituals. As practice shows, such a replacement allows you to achieve a positive effect from the treatment of many skin diseases. Connoisseurs of traditional medicine, unable to find real oil, add pine resin to olive oil. You can collect oleoresin from forest trees (not in the city!) By scraping it off with a knife. When preparing the balm, take all the main components (olive oil, resin, wax) in equal proportions, add 5 g of sugar.

Redesigning the Balynin ointment in their own way, fans of the famous healing recipe, in fact, create new unique remedies. Nevertheless, many of the balms do an excellent job: they treat erysipelas, dermatitis, rheumatism, purulent wounds, and burns. As a rule, when preparing such products, beekeeping products, resins of coniferous trees and olive oil are combined (it is rarely replaced with sunflower and butter, interior pork fat).

It is believed that the Balynin ointment has no contraindications for use. However, before using a folk remedy, you should exclude allergies to its components and consult your doctor.

To prepare a wonderful ointment according to one of the most popular recipes, boil a glass of olive oil in a water bath and half a glass of wax and coniferous resin (the latter is in the form of sap or crushed dry powder). When the mass becomes homogeneous, add to it 2 tablespoons of natural bee honey and propolis on the tip of a knife. Boil the resulting mixture, stirring, for another 10 minutes. and remove the dishes from the heat. The ointment will only need to be cooled and transferred to a glass container for storage.
