"Aquadetrim" (vitamin D3) is a drug that regulates the exchange of calcium and phosphorus in the body. Vitamin D3 is a natural form of vitamin D, the lack of which in the body can lead to the development of rickets and other pathologies.

Vitamin D regulates calcium and phosphate metabolism, which influences the growth and formation of the skeleton. The presence of calcium in the blood affects the process of blood coagulation and the function of the heart muscle, maintains normal muscle tone of the skeletal muscles. Vitamin D is required by the body for the immune system to function well. With a lack of vitamin D in food, calcium deficiency, the child may develop rickets. An increased need for vitamin D also appears in women during menopause.
Instructions for the use of "Aquadetrim"
"Aquadetrim" (vitamin D3) is prescribed for the prevention and treatment of rickets, rickets-like diseases, vitamin D deficiency, osteoporosis, diseases caused by a decrease in the level of calcium in the blood, diseases characterized by insufficient bone mineralization. The dose of "Akvadetrim" is prescribed individually. It is set depending on the amount of vitamin D that the patient receives from food and in the form of drugs. The method of application of the drug is inside, dissolving drops in 1 spoonful of water. One drop of "Aquadetrim" contains 500 IU of the active ingredient - colecalciferol.

In order to prevent newborns from four weeks of life to two to three years, the drug is given in a dose of 500-1000 IU (one or two drops) per day. Premature infants from four weeks of age, children in unfavorable conditions, twins are given 1000-1500 IU (two to three drops) of the drug per day. In summer, the dose is reduced to 500 IU (one drop) per day.
For the treatment of rickets "Akvadetrim" is taken daily in the amount of 4-10 drops per day for 4-6 weeks. The initial dose of the drug should be 4 drops per day for three to five days, then the amount of the drug is increased to therapeutic (usually 6 drops per day). A dose of 10 drops per day is prescribed for severe bone changes. After a one week break, if necessary, the course of treatment can be repeated until a clear clinical effect is obtained. Then they switch to a prophylactic dose - one to three drops a day.
Pregnant women need to take 500 IU of the drug daily per day during the entire period of pregnancy, or starting from 28 weeks in the amount of 1000 IU per day.
Contraindications to the use of "Aquadetrim"
"Aquadetrim" is contraindicated in case of an excess of vitamin D in the body, an increased content of calcium in the blood and urine, urolithiasis, chronic and acute kidney disease, renal failure, active form of pulmonary tuberculosis, hypersensitivity to vitamin D3. The drug is not prescribed for newborns under the age of four weeks. During pregnancy, "Aquadetrim" is not used in high doses. During lactation, the drug is prescribed with caution. During pregnancy and during breastfeeding (lactation), the amount of vitamin D3 taken should not exceed 600 IU per day.
