Diuver is a drug that has a diuretic effect. This remedy is prescribed for certain diseases of the liver, kidneys and lungs, as well as for chronic heart failure to relieve edema.

Instructions for the use of "Diuver"

Diuver's active ingredient is torasemide. It inhibits the absorption of sodium and water ions, reduces fluid pressure in cells. The drug reduces fibrosis (thickening of the connective tissue), and also improves the diastolic function of the heart muscle, which consists in the ability to relax the heart after the stage of expulsion of blood.

"Diuver" is prescribed for edema of various origins (with chronic heart failure, kidney, liver, lung diseases), with arterial hypertension. The drug is taken once a day after meals in the amount of 5 mg. If necessary, this amount is increased to 20-40 mg. Before you start taking the drug, you need to adjust the water-electrolyte balance. Patients with diabetes mellitus during treatment with Diuver need to control their glucose levels.

With continued treatment, glucose monitoring is required for all patients. It is also necessary to monitor the level of uric acid, creatinine, electrolytes, lipids.

Contraindications to the appointment of "Diuvera"

"Diuver" is contraindicated in renal failure, low blood pressure, in a precomatose state, anuria (absence of urine excretion), in arrhythmia, hepatic coma. The drug is not prescribed for children and adolescents under the age of eighteen years, during pregnancy and lactation, with hypersensitivity to torasemide and sulfonamides. "Diuver" should be taken with caution in patients with a predisposition to gout, with an increased content of uric acid in the blood, with severe and latent diabetes.

The drug "Diuver" has an effect on psychomotor reactions, therefore, at the time of taking the drug, one should abandon the obviously hazardous activities that require high concentration of attention.

Side effects of "Diuver"

Diuver can cause the following side effects: decreased blood pressure, poor circulation, abdominal pain, poor appetite, pancreatitis, increased liver enzymes, dry mouth, urinary retention, headache, numbness of the arms and legs, confusion, weakness, drowsiness, deafness, electrolyte imbalance, an increase in the amount of uric acid in the blood, blurred vision. While taking the drug, tinnitus, skin rash, itching may appear. In case of an overdose, hypovolemia occurs (a decrease in the volume of circulating blood), confusion, increased urination, which causes a change in the electrolyte balance, the pressure drops sharply, and the activity of the digestive system may be disrupted.
