Pain relievers

If you feel a headache, you can relieve it in the first 30 minutes. To do this, you need to take a dose of the appropriate pain relievers, for example, "Paracetamol", "Ibuprofen" or "Aspirin". Drink as much water as possible. Dehydration makes the headache worse and may also be the immediate cause. Some people try to numb pain with caffeinated beverages and medications, but this is fraught with complications. Caffeine helps to quickly relieve headaches, but excessive consumption of it itself becomes the source of such pains. Also, never mix medications with caffeine, as this also leads to headaches.

If you can, try to find a quiet place and rest for at least 30 minutes. Turn off the lights and close the curtains on the windows, if necessary, use a special blindfold. The room temperature depends on your usual preferences. If you are in the workplace, warn your coworkers and ask them not to disturb you. Lie down and focus on your breathing, periodically massage your temples. Try to lie down so that your neck and head feel comfortable, do not allow muscle tension.

Cold compress

A good way to get rid of a headache is to use a cold compress. Soak a piece of soft cloth with cold water and place it on your forehead. This procedure narrows the blood vessels in the head area, which in turn reduces pain. As soon as you feel the material start to warm up, dampen it again. For a longer lasting compress, place a damp cloth in a plastic bag and place it in the freezer for a while. Such a compress will remain cold for much longer due to the formed pieces of ice. Applying a cold compress to your neck can also be helpful.

Massage can be done to relieve pain and improve blood flow to the head. In its simplest form, massage is reduced to slow circular movements in the temple area. Alternatively, you can massage your entire head as if you were shampooing it, while using coconut oil or argan oil by rubbing it on your fingertips. It is most effective to use outside help. Have someone massage your head, neck, and upper back.
