In order for a toothache to become your constant companion, you need to get used to brushing your teeth correctly from childhood. This must be done twice a day - in the morning and in the evening. At the same time, do not forget that even very intensive cleaning of teeth does not always remove all dental deposits (especially from the lateral surfaces of the tooth). Therefore, the interdental space must be additionally cleaned with toothpicks and dental floss.
Brushing your teeth should be thorough, and this procedure should be started when the rows of the upper and lower teeth are not closed. Many dentists recommend that you apply the toothpaste to the surface of your teeth with your finger and hold it there for a while before starting brushing - and then proceed to regular brushing. This little trick makes cleaning your teeth more effective. To brush the teeth start from the buccal surfaces, making at least ten strokes with the brush on each side. The procedure is then repeated for the inner surfaces of the teeth facing the tongue. The chewing surfaces of the teeth must be cleaned especially carefully, performing at least 15 movements on each side of the mouth.
To properly brush your teeth, place your toothbrush at an angle of approximately 45 degrees to the surface to be cleaned. Cleaning the front teeth - incisors - is performed with a brush located perpendicular to the dentition. The entire brushing procedure should last a total of at least three to four minutes, and it is recommended to end it with a massage of the lower and upper gums. Such an extremely useful massage is performed with circular movements of the toothbrush and serves as an excellent prevention of certain diseases of the oral cavity (stomatitis, bleeding gums, etc.). Do not forget to change your toothbrush and floss every three months - and then you will have to visit the dentist only once every six months for a preventive examination.
