You can get infected with candidiasis anywhere - newborn babies can be infected in the womb or in the first hours after birth. Further provoking of fungal infection occurs under the influence of a number of factors - the creation of a favorable environment for the reproduction of fungi due to external conditions, regular exposure to the skin of irritating factors, and personal hygiene features.

Violation of the yeast flora often occurs with the occurrence of various diseases - metabolic (diabetes, obesity), infectious lesions, vitamin deficiencies, etc. Antibiotic therapy is considered one of the reasons for the development of severe systemic disorders due to the effect of candidiasis on the intestinal mucosa. Taking some drugs (immunosuppressants, hormonal contraceptives) leads to a decrease in resistance and hormonal disorders.

Oral candidiasis is a lesion of the oral mucosa during therapy with antibacterial drugs. Clinically, this is manifested in the formation of a spotty plaque of a whitish color, which becomes dense with a severe course of the disease, and when separated from the tissues, bleeding ulcers are found. Further spread of the disease leads to damage to the mucous membrane of the larynx, tonsils.

Genital candidiasis affects both the outer tissues and the inner membranes. This type of candidiasis is characterized by a tendency to frequent relapses and can proceed, delivering great inconvenience in the form of burning sensation, sharp pain, severe inflammation and itching. Candidiasis is not classified as a sexually transmitted disease, but it is sexually transmitted.

Diagnosis of candidiasis includes laboratory tests to determine the presence of a fungal infection and its quantitative indicators - the effectiveness of therapy depends on this.

Treatment of candidiasis is based on the use of antifungal drugs, individual treatment regimens, including local prescriptions. Candidiasis is dangerous for its relapses, therefore, prevention of the development of extensive yeast lesions is of great importance - the creation of ideal hygienic conditions, the absence of provoking factors, the use of lactic acid products.
