Sweating is, without any doubt, the physiological protection of the human body from overheating. Sweat cools the body as the ambient temperature rises. It is worth noting that all people sweat: both babies and the elderly. Some people combat bad sweat odor with antiperspirant deodorants. However, there is an opinion that their use does not pass without leaving a trace for the body.

Anyone sweats in any given situation. Contact with the skin, as well as the vital activity of skin microbes, causes sweat to exude an unpleasant odor. To avoid this embarrassment, people have been trying for centuries to find at least some way to combat sweating. Years and centuries have passed. Science does not stand still.

The culmination of modern cosmetology is the development of special skin deodorants. Antiperspirant deodorants are special cosmetic products designed to prevent the production of sweat on the body, as well as to contain the unpleasant odor emanating from the sweat glands.

Are antiperspirants harmful?

It is worth noting that these funds cope with their task with a bang. A special substance that is part of their composition prevents sweat from escaping through the pores. You can really forget about the unpleasant odor in the armpits. But, as they say, there is no silver lining! The fact is that almost all antiperspirants (unlike conventional deodorants) include aluminum in their chemical composition, which has a negative effect on the human body. Aluminum was taken into service, since it is this metal that effectively fights against unpleasant secretions from the sweat glands.

What are the harmful effects of antiperspirant deodorants?

British scientists generally believe that these funds have a direct impact on the development of breast cancer in women. They took an aluminum test from 17 women operated on for breast cancer. The results scared scientists. Higher levels of this metal have been found in cancer-affected tissues than in healthy women! But the research did not end there.

Research by Dr. McGrade

Northwestern University physician Chris McGrath also conducted a series of studies in which he tried to find out the connection between the use of antiperspirant deodorants and the possible harm they can cause to the human body. Specifically, Dr. McGrath looked at the link between antiperspirants and breast cancer in women.

According to his research, most women who have used antiperspirants from a young age have breast cancer diagnosed at a fairly early age. Of course, this data represents a tiny percentage of the total, but Dr. McGrath believes there is certainly a link between antiperspirant use and breast cancer.

It is worth noting that today the connection between purchased antiperspirant deodorants and the development of cancer has not yet been proven. However, doctors advise against using these funds on an ongoing basis. According to them, antiperspirants should only be used when absolutely necessary.
