It is necessary

  • - rosehip fruits or petals;
  • - olive or sunflower oil.

Instructions

Step 1

To prepare the oil, use only fresh rose hips - they contain the maximum amount of vitamins and other useful substances. The optimal time for harvesting is from late August to early October. The ripeness of the fruit can be determined by the skin. If it is red and soft, start picking berries. The use of overripe fruits with a hard skin is undesirable.

Step 2

Wash the harvested fruits and dry them in the fresh air or in the oven. In the first case, it will take several days. In the second - 8-10 hours.

Step 3

Grind dried rose hips in a coffee grinder to a powder. You can, of course, use whole fruits, but in this case the concentration of nutrients in the finished oil will be several times lower.

Step 4

Mix the resulting powder with olive or sunflower oil in a 1: 3 ratio. Cover the dishes with a lid and put them in a cool dark place for 10-14 days.

Step 5

After the allotted time, bring the present oil to a boil over low heat. Cool, strain and pour into a container in which it will be stored. It is better if it is a dark glass dish.

Step 6

The finished oil can be stored in a cool, dark place for several months. You can rub it into the scalp, make hair masks, apply on nails. In addition, it is good for small cracks in the skin.

Step 7

You can make rosehip petal oil in the same way. Its effectiveness is no lower, but a unique aroma will emanate from it. Unlike rose hips, petals do not need to be pre-dried. Otherwise, there are no differences in the preparation, storage and use of oils.
