Corns are rough areas of the skin without clear outlines. Sometimes even light touching them causes pain. The main reason for the appearance of corns on the feet is uncomfortable and tight shoes. It is important that when wearing shoes or sandals, the load on the foot is evenly distributed, especially if the shoes are with high heels.

Calluses can be cured in a clinic or beauty salon. The specialist will select the procedure that suits you. Usually this is a course of treating corns with liquid nitrogen, laser treatment, or mechanical removal using a device resembling a drill. However, you can get rid of corns at home.

In any pharmacy, you can buy a remedy for corns. The pharmacist will most likely offer you several items to choose from. As a rule, the main component of the remedy for corns is salicylic acid. If you are offered a cream or ointment, make sure that the salicylic acid is at least 10 percent. Other components of the remedy may be different: vegetable oils (for example, flaxseed or vegetable), castor oil, benzoic acid and glycerin.

It is important to remember that only damaged skin should be treated with a pharmacy product. It is better to steam your feet in a warm bath with the addition of antibacterial agents (for example, a decoction of chamomile), and then seal the area with a plaster, cutting out a hole the size of the corns. After that, a cream or ointment should be applied and sealed with a plaster for 6-8 hours. This procedure will be especially effective if carried out at night. In the morning, the corns can be scraped off with a brush or pumice stone.

The following drugs for corns have proven themselves well:

- "Nemosol" ointment (composition: lanolin, castor and vegetable oils, glycerin monstearate, sulfur, salicylic and glycolic acids);

- Stop-Corn ointment (composition: lactic acid, distilled water);

- anti-ash paste "5 days" (composition: petroleum jelly, salicylic acid, lanolin);

- balm "Mountain celandine" for the correction of cosmetic skin defects (composition: celandine extract, gentian, string, golden rhododendron, spear-shaped cocoa);

- Foot Relax anti-callus cream (composition: petrolate, salicylic acid, ethylhexyl stearate, eucalyptol, camphor, titanium dioxide).

Folk remedies

One of the most famous folk remedies for treating the skin of the feet is soap and soda baths. To get rid of corns in this way, you need to dissolve 1 tablespoon of laundry soap, previously grated, and 2-3 teaspoons of baking soda in one liter of warm water. Feet should be kept in such a bath for about half an hour, then scrape off the skin from the affected areas, rinse your feet with clean water, wipe well and apply any greasy cream.

If the corns are causing you pain, you can make a bath with potassium permanganate and table salt. Potassium permanganate should not be added too much. It is enough to achieve a slightly pinkish color of the water. Salt per liter of water will be enough 1 tablespoon. The duration of the procedure is 5-10 minutes. You don't need to wipe your feet after such a bath, they should dry naturally.

An effective remedy is hydrogen peroxide, which can be bought at any pharmacy. Dilute 2 tablespoons of peroxide in a liter of warm water. Steaming feet in such a bath should be at least half an hour. After that, you need to remove the corns with a pumice stone and apply a nourishing cream.
