Diseases caused by the bacterium leptotrix can occur in the oropharynx and vagina. The detection of this infection indicates pathogenic changes in the microflora, which may manifest with specific symptoms, or may not show any signs at all.
Characterization of infection
Leptotrix (leptotrix) - microorganisms belonging to gram-negative anaerobic bacteria that live in various reservoirs, tap water and swimming pools. The identification of this type of microorganism in a woman is a serious reason to start taking measures to fight the infection.
In men, this disease is not diagnosed, most often they are only its carriers. If a leptotrix bacteria is found in a woman, it is necessary to do a few more additional tests, because these microorganisms very often accompany very dangerous infections, such as Trichomonas and chlamydia.
Symptoms of this disease may be completely absent, but they are actively manifested when pregnancy occurs, and when it is prematurely terminated.
In addition, leptotrix is diagnosed in women whose immunity is in a suppressed state, as well as in the presence of HIV infection. If these microorganisms are found in the mouth, they cause very serious tooth decay.
Diagnosis and treatment of the disease
If leptotrix is not accompanied by any infections and did not cause signs of the disease, then most often there is no need for treatment - it will not cause harm. But in most cases, when it is found, there is a need for treatment. There are two types of bacteria: one of them causes diseases of the oropharynx, the second - vaginal leptotrichosis.
This bacterium can enter the human body together with tap water, as well as when bathing in pools and reservoirs, but not sexually.
The disease is accompanied by the following symptoms: the appearance of grayish spots on the palate, tongue and tonsils, as well as vaginal discharge of the same gray color, itching and burning. In pregnant women, this disease can cause choriamnionitis and bacteremia, which leads to premature termination of pregnancy, causes miscarriages, as well as the development of various bacterial complications in the fetus.
Treat the disease with antibacterial drugs: "Tetracycline", "Clindamycin", "Levomycetin", or "Metronidazole", in the form of tablets or suppositories.
The most important and basic rule that must be observed by all women in order to prevent this disease is to observe the basic rules of personal hygiene.
Drinking water must be purified using special filters. When swimming in open natural reservoirs, you must try to prevent water from entering the oral cavity.
