Herpes simplex virus type 1 infects the upper body. Infection with this type of virus occurs in a household way and often at an early age. Unwashed dishes, dirty hands, kissing a sick person - all this allows the microorganism to move to the skin of a healthy person. And then the aggressive effect of the virus begins, which is looking for a weakened living cell to integrate into it. The most vulnerable cells of the mucous membranes, they are distinguished by a thin membrane, in which viruses can easily break through. It was the ability of viruses to find the thinnest membrane, as well as painstaking and consistent work to destroy it, that for a long time excited the minds of scientists with the idea of ​​the intelligence of viruses.

Having penetrated into the body, the virus either absorbs the cell, or forces it to mutate. Herpes itself, like any virus, is a parasite; it lives only at the expense of the cell into which it has entered. If the type of cell, its composition and environment are alien to him, or if he turns out to be outside its limits, the virus takes over the functions of a biopolymer, then they say that the person is infected (carrier), but the virus is not active. Most often, children adopt a "parasite" from a parent with an active form of the disease.

Herpes simplex virus type 2, called genital, affects the lower body. It is transmitted through sexual intercourse, as well as from a sick mother to a child during childbirth. The peculiarity of viruses of this type is in their selectivity, they settle exclusively on mucous membranes, while the attack does not begin immediately. The incubation period is 2 to 14 days. Once in the human body, HSV remains in it forever.

The most common symptoms are redness and blistering at the site of the lesion. These phenomena are accompanied by itching, fever, headache, nausea, and general weakness. About half of the infections are asymptomatic and difficult to treat. The virus in this case causes hidden harm to the sexual and reproductive function of a person.
