Rescue services are constantly on duty at 11 Moscow beaches officially approved for swimming. In the recreation area there are cafes, children's playgrounds, sports grounds. Swimming areas for children have been fenced off, clean sand has been brought to the coast. To ensure safety in accordance with sanitary and hygienic standards, a commission is involved in the acceptance of beaches, which includes specialists from Rospotrebnadzor, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Department of Natural Resources, and the fire inspection. In all 11 reservoirs, the bottom was cleaned, the coastline was constantly being put in order, rescue posts were installed, and water samples were regularly taken for analysis (chemical and bacteriological).

However, in the midst of the Moscow heat - at the beginning of August - RIA Novosti, citing the Moscow department of Rospotrebnadzor, reported that Muscovites are now prohibited from swimming in five of the eleven reservoirs.

As noted in the report of the supervisory authority, the results of studies of water samples in these five reservoirs, drinking water in fountains, as well as soil and coastal sand revealed an excess of microbiological and physicochemical indicators that is dangerous for the health of vacationers.

Recreation areas were temporarily banned: Levoberezhny beach, Beach Club, Troparevo, Bolshoi Sadovy Pond, Lake Beloe.

The official report of Rospotrebnadzor says: "During the regular inspections of reservoirs, recreation areas (with and without bathing) carried out by specialists of the territorial departments, their satisfactory condition was noted." The sanitary maintenance of territories, playgrounds, sports and recreation areas, places for storing household waste is also at the proper level, the federal supervision service notes. There have been no complaints from consumers about the poor-quality maintenance of territories near water bodies since May 30.
