A gauze bandage is not always available at a pharmacy, such situations occur during a flu epidemic. Therefore, it is necessary to be able to make a protective bandage yourself. This does not require special skills, it is enough to have at hand a piece of gauze or bandage, cotton wool, threads, scissors, a sewing machine or just a needle and thread.

It is necessary

  • - gauze;
  • - bandage;
  • - cotton wool;
  • - scissors;
  • - threads;
  • - a needle or sewing machine.

Instructions

Step 1

Cut a piece of gauze 60 cm wide and about 90 cm long. Spread it out on the table and place the cotton wool evenly in the middle. The area with it should be about 15 by 15 cm and 2 cm thick, otherwise it will be difficult to breathe.

Step 2

Press down on the cotton wool, you can put some kind of load for 10-20 minutes. After that, tuck one edge under the gauze with cotton wool, cover it with the other side. As a result, you should have three layers of cotton wool in the middle. Put the weight back on for a few minutes to compact.

Step 3

On the left and right, make one cut exactly in the middle to the cotton layer. You will get two strings on each side. The simplest gauze bandage is ready. Its disadvantage is that the gauze crumbles at the edges. And the bandage itself looks ugly.

Step 4

If you have a 14 cm bandage close at hand, try sewing a gauze bandage from it. To do this, cut off about 60 cm and lay out on the table. Lay out a layer of cotton wool on one edge so that it occupies an area of 14-15 cm long. Put down the weight to be compacted.

Step 5

Cut a piece of bandage 80 cm long and fold it in the form of two strings. Place them across the cotton wool layer, strictly along the edges, after removing the weight. Rotate the bandage a few times. You should get a bandage. It remains only to sew its edges so that the cotton wool does not fall out and the threads of the bandage do not hang down.

Step 6

You can do it differently - thread the strings later. To do this, wrap the bandage around the cotton layer and thread the ties, and then sew the edges.
