In Europe, the sunflower took root and began to be cultivated as a cultivated plant. But initially it was grown in parks and gardens for the sole purpose of decorating flower beds. Only later, in the middle of the 18th century, the Europeans tasted its seeds and were pleasantly surprised, after which they began to fry them and add them to food. And in 1716 in England, a businessman tried to crush a sunflower seed and got oil. Soon he set up his own production of sunflower oil. But at first it was only used as a lubricant for textile machines. We learned about the beneficial properties of sunflower oil later.
