Vitaxon is a neurotropic B vitamin produced by a Ukrainian pharmaceutical company. On pharmacy shelves, you can find the drug in the form of tablets and a solution for intramuscular administration. Vitaxon has a number of contraindications and side effects, so before treatment, you should carefully read the instructions.
Composition and form
The Vitaxon preparation is based on several components:
- thiamine chloride, which regulates metabolism and participates in the processes of the nervous system;
- pyridoxine hydrochloride, which improves metabolism in brain tissues;
- cyanocobalamin, which increases tissue regeneration and normalizes hematopoiesis;
- lidocaine hydrochloride, which has anesthetic properties.
Vitaxon is produced in the form of white film tablets and a red injectable solution with a specific odor.
Vitamins of group B "Vitaxon" have a beneficial effect on the nervous system and the musculoskeletal system. This drug is prescribed for inflammatory and degenerative processes in tissues. The tool is able to quickly eliminate the deficiency of vitamins of group B, in higher doses it is used as an analgesic drug. It is noticed that "Vitaxon" improves blood flow, normalizes the functioning of the nervous system.
Vitamins enter the systemic circulation through the upper digestive tract, excreted from the body in the form of metabolites within 2-5 hours.
When injected intramuscularly, the components work in different ways. Thiamine is observed in the patient's blood 15 minutes after injection. Distributed unevenly, able to penetrate the placental barrier, observed in breast milk. It is excreted in the urine within 2 days. Practically does not accumulate.
Pyridoxine also quickly enters the bloodstream, 80% binds to blood proteins. It is distributed relatively evenly, passes freely through the placenta and enters breast milk. It is deposited in the hematopoietic organ, excreted by the kidneys within 2-4 hours.
After administration, cyanocobalamin combines with the transport protein transcobalamin, crosses the placenta, and is absorbed by the liver and bone marrow. It leaves the body with bile through the intestinal tract.
Vitaxon is prescribed as part of complex therapy, that is, one drug is not enough to defeat the disease. Intramuscular injections are prescribed for neuropathic pain caused by polyneuropathy. The drug is used in the treatment of neuritis, neuralgia.
Neurosurgeons prescribe B vitamins for diseases of the spine such as plexopathy, dorsalgia, lumbar ischialgia, in order to relieve pain. Vitaxon tablets are most often used to compensate for vitamin B1 and B6 deficiencies.
Pills. Vitaxon in this form is not recommended to be taken in case of gastric ulcer and intestinal tract ulcers in the stage of exacerbation. It is worth giving it up if you have an allergic reaction to B vitamins.
Injection. Intramuscular injections with the drug are prohibited in acute heart failure, problems with the conduction system of the heart. It is not recommended to use "Vitaxon" in therapy during pregnancy and with hepatitis B. Injections should be avoided in case of hypersensitivity to any component of the drug. In pediatrics, Vitaxon injections are also not practiced.
Vitaxon often causes negative consequences, especially with prolonged use. From the gastrointestinal tract, nausea (and even vomiting), diarrhea, abdominal pain, and bitterness in the mouth may appear. On the part of the cardiac system, active components can cause tachycardia, so you should carefully listen to your body.
Changes in the immune system and skin are possible.Some patients complain of increased sensitivity and itching. In rare cases, anaphylaxis and urticaria are observed.
With prolonged use of the tablets, dizziness, headache, and nervous excitement may appear.
With intramuscular injections, in some cases, there is increased sweating, shortness of breath. With the rapid introduction of the drug, confusion, arrhythmia, bradycardia, dizziness and even convulsions may appear. Also, patients notice a burning sensation and pain at the puncture site.
Mode of application
Vitaxon tablets should be taken 1 piece a day after meals. In some cases, doctors triple the dose, but you should not do it yourself. The duration of treatment depends on the disease, on average it is 1 month.
The solution "Vitaxon" is administered in the first days of treatment, 2 ml per day, then the number of injections is reduced to 2-3 times a week.
Interaction with other medications
With the simultaneous administration of the drug "Vitaxon" and other vitamins, the amount of the second can be significantly reduced, that is, the B vitamins are able to suppress the amount of others.
Medicines containing sulfites are not prescribed with thiamine, as they reduce the effect of vitamins. The same effect can be seen when taking levodopa.
Injections with icecoin, which is part of Vitaxon, are not used in parallel with epinephrines and norepinephrines, since undesirable reactions from the cardiovascular system may occur.
Vitaxon solution is used only intramuscularly. In no case should it be allowed to enter the vascular bed. If intravenous administration has occurred, the patient should be monitored in a hospital setting.
When using B vitamins for more than six months, neuropathy may appear. Vitaxon has no effect on concentration.
Analogues and cost
60 Vitaxon tablets with a dosage of 100 mg will cost the buyer 450-500 rubles. The price for 5 ampoules of 2 ml will be 370-400 rubles.
Since Vitaxon is produced by a Ukrainian pharmaceutical company, it is rather problematic to purchase it in Russia, but its analogues can be found on pharmacy shelves.
Combilipen includes the same active ingredients as Vitaxon. Its cost is 220-250 rubles for 10 ampoules of 2 ml. You can also purchase "Compligam", "Milgamma", "Binavit", "Larigama".
Reviews of the drug are mostly positive. Many people note its therapeutic effect, a relatively affordable price. The disadvantages include pain when the drug is injected, an unpleasant odor of the solution, and some side effects.
One woman consulted a neurologist with back pain. After examination, she was diagnosed with thoracic osteochondrosis. As part of the therapy, the doctor prescribed Vitaxon injections. After the first injection, the pain began to decrease, after 3 days there was no trace of it. In addition, during therapy, the woman noticed a strengthening of the immune system, and this is not surprising, because the drug contains vitamins. Previously, she often suffered from colds, and after treatment she began to take less sick leave.
Another man often complained of pain in the back, in the arm, or in the head. The doctor recommended to take a course of the drug "Vitaxon". Immediately after the introduction, the man felt bad: his head began to spin, his thoughts were confused. Due to side effects, the injections were canceled.
Another woman noticed an exacerbation of chronic diseases with the arrival of autumn. First of all, her back began to hurt a lot. She used to save herself with the medicine "Milgamma", but the pharmacist advised her to a cheaper analogue "Vitaxon". The remedy was suitable for the woman, she did not notice the side effects. The only thing was that the injection site hurt for a long time.
Despite the large number of positive reviews, the drug does not help everyone.Before using, you should definitely consult with your doctor, as B vitamins can aggravate some diseases. In addition, vitamins often cause allergic reactions, especially with uncontrolled use.
