Anemia is a pathological condition of the body in which the level of hemoglobin in the blood is reduced. She greatly worsens the state of health, against her background, other diseases are much more difficult.

Step 1

It is unacceptable to treat anemia without a doctor's recommendation. For example, in some cases, this condition is a consequence of more serious pathologies (for example, cancer of the bone marrow). Before prescribing drugs, the doctor must conduct a thorough diagnosis. The effectiveness of treatment should be monitored by blood tests.

Step 2

Iron supplements are prescribed to treat or prevent iron deficiency anemia. They act as follows: iron salts are absorbed in the intestine, then incorporated into hemoglobin and improve oxygen transport. It is recommended to give preference to preparations of ferrous or ferric iron in combination with vitamin C. For rapid saturation with iron or for intestinal pathologies, parenteral forms are used. After reaching the desired level of hemoglobin, the therapeutic dose is reduced to a maintenance dose.

Step 3

Ferrous iron preparations include: "Ferroplex", "Tardiferron", "Sorbifer Durules", "Ginotardiferron", "Ferrofolgamma", "Fenuls". Ferric iron preparations: "Polymaltose hydroxide", "Fenuls", "Ferrum lek", "Protein succinate". For parenteral administration use: "Maltofer", "Venofer", "Ferrum Lek", "Cosmofer", "Argeferr", "Likferr".

Step 4

In chronic B12-deficiency anemia and aplastic anemias, injections of vitamin B12 (cyanocobalamin) are prescribed. For folate deficiency hyperchromic macrocytic anemia, take folic acid tablets. Vitamins C, E, B2, B6 can also be prescribed. For the treatment of aplastic anemias with an autoimmune component, glucocorticosteroids are used in the form of tablets and injections: Cortisol, Hydrocortisone, Prednisolone, Dexamethasone. Androgens ("Sustanon", "Testosterone propionate") are also used.

Step 5

For hypoplastic and aplastic anemias, anabolic steroids are used to reduce bone marrow depression: Mesterolone, Nandrolone, Anapolon (Oxymetholone). For the treatment of autoimmune aplastic anemias in the absence of the effect of other drugs, cytostatics are used ("Azathioprine" ("Imuran").

Step 6

In order to treat anemias of renal origin, erythropoietin preparations are prescribed in the form of a solution for injections: Epoitin-alpha (Epocomb, Eralfon, Epocrine Eprex), Epoitin-beta (Epostim, Vero-epoitin, "Epoitin-vero", "Erythropoietin", "Recormon", "Erythrostim"), "Epoitin-omega" ("Epomax"), "Darbepoitin-alpha" ("Aranesp").
