Dukan's diet contains 4 stages, or phases, as the nutritionist himself calls them.

During the first phase - "Attack", you can eat veal, beef, white chicken or turkey meat (without skin), kidneys, liver, fish, seafood, eggs and dairy products with zero fat content. All products can be mixed with each other. For normal bowel function, oat and wheat bran should be consumed. A prerequisite for adhering to the diet is to drink at least 2 liters of plain filtered water every day, otherwise you can disrupt the functioning of the kidneys.

If you need to "remove" less than 10 kg, the "Attack" phase should be followed for 3 days, from 10 to 20 kg - up to 5 days, from 20 to 30 kg - 7 days, more than 30 kg - up to 10 days.

The next phase - "Alternation" includes all of the above products of the first phase plus vegetables are added: cucumbers, radishes, tomatoes, asparagus, spinach, green beans, mushrooms, celery, zucchini, eggplant, carrots, peppers, beets.

The name of the phase is telling. Its main idea is to alternate protein days (meat) with protein and vegetable days. The alternation scheme is set by the losing weight himself. The main idea of ​​this phase is to consolidate the new weight and prevent the return of the lost kilograms. The duration of this phase depends entirely on the number of pounds dropped. Each lost kilogram assumes 10 days of consolidation.

During this stage, you can eat all products of the 1st and 2nd phases, as well as 1 serving of fruits daily (except cherries, bananas, grapes), 40 g of cheese, 2 slices of bread a day. You can allow 2 servings of starchy (pasta, potatoes, beans, rice, peas) per week. In addition, you can eat anything you want twice a week (but not 2 days in a row).

After observing all the phases, you can return to your normal diet. However, have a weekly protein day, eat 3 tablespoons daily. bran and drink at least 1.5 liters of water.
