  • - improvised means for fixing;
  • - bandage, gauze;
  • - iodine;
  • - pain relievers.

Step 1

A fracture is a violation of the integrity of the bone. Depending on the nature of the damage, it can be open or closed, simple, with displacement of debris. When falling from a great height, under the action of brute force, a compression fracture is possible, in which the bones are compressed, flattened. The most common injuries in accidents are limb fractures, although other parts of the body may be damaged in an accident, such as the bones of the skull, chest, and spine. Each of these injuries requires a special approach to transporting the patient and alleviating his condition.

Step 2

First, it is necessary to ensure the immobility of the area of the body at the site of injury, to provide assistance in fainting and shock, to stop bleeding, and if necessary apply a bandage. If possible, administer anesthetic to the patient, only then urgently deliver the victim to the hospital.

Step 3

Victims with fractures of the upper limbs are transported in a sitting position; in case of fractures of the lower extremities, the patient should be in the supine position, he must be transported on a stretcher. Prerequisite: the injured limb must be fixed with a splint made from improvised means.

Step 4

Such patients should be transported by specialized ambulance teams, since deterioration can occur at any time. A bandage in the form of a sling is applied to the head, the victim is placed on a stretcher, the head is fixed in a motionless position in order to avoid additional damage.

Step 5

It is necessary to carefully monitor the patient's condition, remove, if necessary, vomit in order to avoid getting them into the respiratory tract and the development of asphyxia (suffocation). In case of damage to the back of the head, the patient is placed on his stomach or on his side. If the condition of the victim permits (with fractures of the nose, facial bones), such patients can be transported in a sitting position.

Step 6

Special care is required for transportation in case of a spinal fracture, since any careless movement can lead to damage to the spinal cord. Observing precautions, transfer the victim to a rigid shield in the supine position with the knees bent and slightly apart in the hip joints. The legs need to be fixed in this position: put a roller of clothes, blankets. It is necessary to transport such patients very carefully, avoiding shaking, after taking anesthetic measures. Patients with fractures of the pelvic bones are transported in the same way.
