Symptoms of the disease

There are four forms of prostatitis: chronic bacterial, acute bacterial, non-bacterial, and prostatodynia. Acute bacterial prostatitis is common in men younger than 35 years old. It is called bacterial, since infections are the cause of the formation of the disease: chlamydia, gonorrhea, gardnerellosis and trichomoniasis. They enter the prostate gland from the bladder, urethra, rectum, through the lymphatic and blood vessels of the small pelvis. In elderly patients, the chronic form of prostatitis is mainly found. Prostatodynia is a thickening of the prostate tissue without signs of inflammation.

Symptoms of prostatitis include various disorders of the urinary tract: a feeling of incomplete emptying of the bladder, painful and frequent urge to urinate, pain in the lower abdomen. Also signs of the disease are premature ejaculation, weak erection, loss of orgasm, pain in the rectum and along the urethra. A man's nervousness and increased anxiety due to the patient's special attention to his illness are also considered symptoms of a vicious disease.

Acute prostatitis in a patient begins with a high temperature of 39-40 ° C with chills and fever. Edema of the prostate gland develops, causing acute urinary retention and soreness.

Chronic prostatitis is asymptomatic and calm. Only with unfavorable factors can an exacerbation of the disease occur.

Treatment regimens

Therapy for inflammation of the prostate is carried out according to the following scheme: antibacterial treatment, physiotherapy procedures, massage of the prostate gland and correction of the immune system.

The patient, first of all, regardless of the type of prostatitis, is prescribed antibiotics. In most cases, fluoroquinolones are prescribed, which have better penetration into the epithelium of the prostate. Macrolides and amoxicillin can also be used. To eliminate pain syndrome, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs are recommended.

Prostate massage plays an important role in the treatment of the disease. But this procedure is the most humiliating and painful for a man. It is massage that improves blood circulation, speeds up the healing process and promotes the elimination of pus.

In addition, electrophoresis, laser therapy, warm baths and magnetotherapy are used in the treatment of prostatitis. Also, to restore the immune system and maintain it at a high level, it is recommended to take fortifying drugs and vitamin complexes.
