Albinism is a complex genetic mutation that is expressed in the absence of pigment in the skin, hair, nails, and the iris of the eyes. It is difficult to be born an albino and not know about it, but sometimes people still have doubts. The following signs will help determine if you are an albino or a blonde of the Scandinavian type.
You have white or pale pink skin. Not just very light, but white, like milk. She burns easily in the sun, never getting tanned (some albinos can get sunburn even on cloudy days).
You have very light or white hair. Perhaps in childhood they were almost white, and with age they acquired a slightly yellowish tint, but they remained very light. Eyebrows, eyelashes, body hair are also white.
You have light blue, gray, seemingly transparent eyes. Under certain lighting conditions, the iris can take on a pink or reddish tint. Under normal conditions, albino eyes are not red - this is a common misconception and nothing more.
You have vision problems. All albinos have significantly reduced visual acuity (myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism are possible). Often there is such a phenomenon as nystagmus - involuntary circular movements of the eyeballs. The eyes of albinos are extremely sensitive to light; in other cases, such people can hardly do without dark glasses. You may have nyctalopia, which means you can see better at dusk than in daylight.
