Panaritium is a purulent inflammation of the skin and deeper tissues of a finger or toe due to abrasions, a cut, a splinter (especially under the nail plate), an unsuccessful manicure or pedicure, an ingrown nail, etc. These factors contribute to the penetration of microbes deep into the skin, as a result of which the inflammatory process develops. Panaritium treatment can be both conservative and surgical.
- - onions, plantain leaves, honey;
- - sowing garlic, onion, aloe leaves, ghee, beeswax.
If the body temperature rises, unbearable pain in the finger, redness and accumulation of pus under the skin, you should immediately consult a surgeon. Under his supervision, conservative treatment is carried out, which consists in daily baths with potassium permanganate, applying dioxin ointment or levmecol to the affected area and bandaging a sore finger.
In case of ineffectiveness of conservative treatment, surgical treatment is performed under local anesthesia. Through a small incision in the skin of the finger, the dead tissue and nail are removed with the introduction of local antibacterial and wound-healing agents. It is also prescribed to take antibiotics by mouth.
At the initial stage of the superficial form of panaritium, it can be cured by using the following composition. Finely chop a small onion head, add chopped plantain leaf and a tablespoon of honey.
Rub the components until smooth and apply as an applique to the damaged area. Cover with compression paper and secure with a bandage.
Change the bandage 3 times a day. Before applying a fresh dressing, soak your finger in fairly hot salted water for 5-7 minutes. Prepare a saline solution with 100 ml of water and 1 tablespoon of salt. You can drop 5-7 drops of iodine.
The following composition is also considered to be a very effective remedy for nail felon. Mix 1 tablespoon each of chopped onions, garlic, aloe leaves, ghee, and beeswax. All ingredients, placed in a small saucepan, cook, stirring constantly with a wooden spatula, for 2 minutes.
Then cool to a temperature comfortable for the body and apply thickly to the sore spot. Top with a broken fresh thin cabbage leaf and tie with a bandage. Repeat the procedure daily until complete recovery (3-5 days).
