Probenecid Biokanol is prescribed for patients with chronic gout. The drug is intended for the correction of the condition in case of hyperuricemia. In addition, it can be included in the list of medicines that are used during the period of antibiotic therapy. However, the instructions for use say that the remedy can cause an acute attack of gout. Therefore, you should not use it yourself, without medical supervision.

How to drink medicine

The duration of the course of treatment can last up to six months, depending on the type of disease and the patient's condition. Usually the effect occurs in the first thirty days.

The starting dosage is usually 250 mg of the drug. After a week, the dose can be gradually increased if the overall health requires it.

The maximum dose of the drug per day is 2 g.

With gout, the reception is carried out twice a day. Tablets should not be crushed or chewed. They need to be washed down with plenty of clean water.

During the period of correction of the condition with infections, "Probenecid", based on the instructions for use, is prescribed in an amount of 500 mg. You need to drink four times a day.

For the treatment of gonorrhea, the drug is taken in the amount of 1 g. Admission should be single. It is carried out either simultaneously with the main drug (antibiotic), or half an hour before taking it.

Dosage in childhood

The calculation of the dosage in the case of treating a child is based on the weight of the small patient.

Usually the initial dose is 25 mg / kg if the child weighs up to 50 kilograms from two years old. Gradually, the amount of funds can be increased to 40 mg / kg. The tablets should be taken four times a day (the required dosage is divided four times).

If a child weighs more than 50 kg, then the dosage is usually the same as in the case of treatment of adult patients.

For the treatment of cancer patients, this tool is not used.
