In life, sometimes there are various situations when it is necessary to have at least a little knowledge of providing first aid to an injured person. One of the simple, but necessary skills is the ability to quickly bandage limbs if any injury is received. Try learning how to bandage and wrap your shoulder.

Step 1

If you get a bruised shoulder, try to keep the victim calm. In this case, the injured hand should be laid on a wide kerchief. A scarf is made from any kind of scarf or square piece of fabric that folds diagonally. In the middle of the scarf, place your arm bent at the elbow, and tie the ends of it in a knot or secure with safety pins. After that, it is better to take the person to the hospital, since severe bruises cannot be easily distinguished from injuries to muscles, tendons, and isolated closed fractures. The degree of injury is found out only after instrumental examination.

Step 2

If there is a wound on the shoulder without damaging large blood vessels, you should clean it of contamination, rinse and make a spiral bandage, covering the wound with a bandage folded in several layers. A spiral bandage is created when the bandage is moved in a spiral, from the elbow joint to the shoulder. If the bandaged part has a different thickness, make a spiral bandage with kinks - so it is applied more tightly.

Step 3

When it is necessary to immobilize an injured arm, it is sometimes bandaged to the body. For example, this is done if the affected person has a severe heart or respiratory disease (arrhythmia, bronchial asthma) and splints are not recommended. The procedure in this case is as follows:

Step 4

Place a cotton-gauze roller in the armpit to make the shoulder more comfortable. To keep it better, you can bandage it to the body or tie it up on a healthy shoulder girdle.

Step 5

Bend your arm at the elbow, pull your elbow back a little, and lift your shoulder up during bandaging.

Step 6

Start bandaging from the armpit of the opposite (healthy) side. Pass the bandage across the sternum parallel to the ground, grab and bandage the shoulder to the torso. Guide the bandage down your back to the armpit of your healthy arm.

Step 7

From the armpit, move the bandage in front to the collarbone on the side where the arm is injured; from the clavicle vertically down the back - cover the elbow from below, lifting it, and direct the bandage in front. Grab the forearm pressed to the chest and direct the bandage obliquely to the armpit of the healthy side. Now direct the bandage along the back to the collarbone.

Step 8

From the collarbone, move forward and down under the elbow. Go around the elbow from front to back, pass the bandage across the entire back to the healthy armpit. From there along the oblique - again to the collarbone on the damaged side. Next - down under the elbow, etc.

Step 9

After you complete this step of bandaging, you should have two identical triangles - on the chest and on the back. The base of the triangle should run along the humerus, and the apex should be at the armpit. After this ligation, fix the limb with a scarf and in a sitting position send the victim to the hospital.
