Adrianol is a topical vasoconstrictor. It is prescribed for the treatment of rhinitis and sinusitis. The drug is produced in the form of nasal drops.

Nasal drops "Adrianol" are prescribed for the treatment of acute, chronic rhinitis, sinusitis, and also as an aid to prevent edema during diagnostic procedures or operations on the ENT organs. The drug contains phenylephrine and trimazoline, which are vasoconstrictor agents. They have a decongestant effect on the nasal mucosa. Reducing swelling normalizes nasal breathing and reduces pressure in the sinuses and middle ear. The solution has a viscous consistency, so it increases the effect of the drug.

Produce drops "Adrianol" for adults and children (under the age of 5 years). One milliliter of drops for adults contains 1.5 mg of trimazoline hydrochloride and 1 mg of phenylephrine hydrochloride, one milliliter of "Adrianol" for children contains 500 mcg of trimazoline hydrochloride and 500 mcg of phenylephrine hydrochloride. Excipients are aqueous ammonia, phenylmercury borate, methylcellulose, glycerol, ethanol 96%, citric acid monohydrate, purified water, sodium hydrogen phosphate dihydrate. Drops are released in dropper bottles with a volume of 10 milliliters.

Adults and children from five years old need to drip one to three drops of the drug into each nasal passage four times a day. For children aged one to five years, 2 drops of the drug are dripped into each nostril three times a day. For infants, drip one drop of the product into each nostril half an hour before feeding. The duration of use of "Adrianol" is no more than seven days, after which they take a break for several days. In chronic rhinitis, you can continue to use the drug after a break of several days. With prolonged use (more than twenty days), it is possible to reduce its therapeutic effect.

"Adrianol": side effects and contraindications

"Adrianol" is usually well tolerated, rare side effects can be manifested by burning, dryness or soreness of the nasal mucosa. The drug is contraindicated in case of hypersensitivity to the components, thyrotoxicosis, pheochromocytoma, atherosclerosis, glaucoma, severe kidney disease, high blood pressure, coronary heart disease, atrophic rhinitis. It is not recommended to use nasal drops "Adrianol" together with MAO inhibitors, as well as within ten days after the end of their intake.

Adrianol is sold without a doctor's prescription. The drug is stored in a dark, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 25 ° C, shelf life is three years.
