The main treatments for food poisoning are to neutralize symptoms and detoxify the body. One of the measures to cope with this condition is diet.
A food poisoning diet should be aimed at restoring the irritated walls of the larynx, stomach and intestines. On the first day, any food is contraindicated, since an irritated stomach will not accept it. In addition, food will cause additional discomfort. Shown to drink plentifully, it prevents the development of dehydration and hypovolemic shock. Water flushes the digestive tract and promotes the elimination of intoxication products from the body.
Boiled drinking water should be at room temperature. Drink it in small sips so that the irritated stomach can absorb the liquid. You need to drink water every hour and a half during the day, a single dose - not less than 200 ml. Ordinary water can be replaced with mineral water without gas. Tea should not be drunk on the first day of food poisoning. Replenish the loss of fluid in the body with the help of special preparations (for example, "Rehydron"), which normalize the salt electrolyte balance.
Starting from the second or third day, the use of a minimum amount of dietary products is allowed. Dairy, meat, fish dishes are excluded. You need to eat in small portions, 5-7 times a day, gradually increasing the amount of food taken. Allowed: liquid vegetable broth, mashed vegetable, slimy soups, rice broths, white bread croutons, liquid mashed potatoes in water, porridge in water (buckwheat, rice), unsweetened and weak tea, jelly, decoctions of dill, rose hips, chamomile.
Starting from the 4th day, include in the diet the following dishes: steamed veal cutlets, poultry meatballs, meat soufflés, boiled lean fish, boiled fish cutlets. Starting from the 5th day, you can eat baked cottage cheese dishes (cottage cheese soufflé, cottage cheese casserole), mashed boiled vegetables, baked non-acidic fruits (pears, apples, quince), steam egg omelet. Green tea, raisin broth, lean dry biscuits, biscuits are allowed.
Within 7-10 days after the poisoning, the following dishes and products should not be eaten: fresh bread, pastries, meat broths, chicken broths, milk soups, sausages, fried meat, cutlets, bacon, fried, smoked, dried, salted fish, fish canned food. During this period, the following are contraindicated: milk, yogurt, kefir, raw vegetables, fruits, oatmeal and pearl barley, millet, fried or hard-boiled eggs, soft-boiled, as well as sour or too sweet compotes.
