Causes of hemorrhoids in women

Hemorrhoids can occur for a variety of reasons. Some of these reasons are due to the structure of the female body and the processes taking place in it. The risk group for developing the disease includes women of childbearing age.

Hemorrhoids are enlarged veins in the rectum. Its occurrence is primarily associated with unhealthy diet: the predominance of meat, fiber-poor food in the diet and daily snacks on the go, provoking problems with bowel movements and chronic constipation. Constipation is both a cause and a consequence of hemorrhoids.

A sedentary lifestyle also contributes to the development of the disease. Lack of motor activity leads to impaired blood flow and weakening of the venous wall in the rectum, resulting in the formation of hemorrhoids. Sedentary work, driving a car, passive spending time on weekends at home are a prerequisite for the development of the disease.

The purely female causes of hemorrhoids include pregnancy and childbirth. The process of carrying a child is accompanied by various changes in the body. The change in hormonal levels promotes blood flow to the pelvic organs, while the increasing size of the uterus presses on the blood vessels located in the immediate vicinity. At the same time, the risk of constipation increases during pregnancy. The combination of these factors increases the likelihood of hemorrhoids.

The protrusion of the venous wall of the rectum in the form of nodes directly provokes the very process of childbirth, in which the vessels of the small pelvis experience tremendous pressure.

Symptoms of hemorrhoids in women

Hemorrhoids is a chronic disease accompanied by periods of exacerbations. The frequency of exacerbations depends on the general health of the woman, her diet, and the characteristics of her work.

It is possible to suspect the presence of an ailment by its characteristic manifestations. The main symptoms of hemorrhoids in women include:

- itching, burning, a feeling of fullness in the anal area;

- Difficulty in the process of emptying the intestines. During an exacerbation, the act of defecation becomes very painful;

- blood in the stool. The amount of blood may be insignificant, and profuse anal bleeding is less common. This symptom is dangerous to health, since even a slight, but regular loss of blood can lead to anemia;

- constipation. Large hemorrhoids interfere with bowel movements. The lack of regular bowel movements, in turn, affects the general well-being, the condition of the skin and the body as a whole.

Treatment of hemorrhoids in women

There are conservative and radical treatments for hemorrhoids. Conservative therapy is recommended at the initial stages of the development of the disease, it involves the use of local and general agents - drugs in the form of suppositories, ointments, tablets. Suppositories and ointments are recommended for use immediately at the time of exacerbation of the disease to eliminate its main symptoms. Local preparations do not have a negative effect on the body as a whole; their use is not contraindicated in pregnant women.

Radical treatment of hemorrhoids is indicated if conservative therapy does not bring the desired result, in the event of complications. In such cases, hemorrhoids are removed by sclerotherapy, photocoagulation or cryodestruction.
